To Live or To Die?

Hamlet:

Is it better to live or die?

Should I take all the nasty things that happen

And fight against it or should I put a stop to

Everything? Dying is like sleeping

That is all it I would do is sleep

Sleeping will take all the pain in my heart and

surprises that life gives me away.

This sounds like an awesome plan to me.

Dying and sleeping.

While sleeping maybe I will dream, but there is a catch

If I die I may have no dreams, and who knows what dreams will come

That is something that makes this a horrible option.

For this reason we have pain and surprises that life causes.

Who will put up with all of life’s horrible measures—?

Abuse from people, insults from arrogant people,

The misery of despised love, the laws unfairness,

The crude people in an office, and the mistreatment

That bad people use to put down good people—

Who would put up with that if you can simply take your life?

Who would live through all the discrimination, and hurtful

Things—unless they were scared about something dreadful after death.

A place that no one knows about, and no visitors ever come back

Which we all wonder and think about, which makes us stick to our

Cruel ways rather than find positives to help make our lives better.

The fright of death makes us all cowards

And we become weak with thinking too much. Our actions

Get mislead or not achieved and then we stop and do not finish

Be quiet! Beautiful Ophella is coming.

Please remember me my lady!

Patient

Kristyn Arlian
18 year old female

When discussing with my patient, Kristyn Arlian, she told me that she L-O-V-E-D to shop! She explained that shopping made her happy and shopping sales made her even happier. J Two days after the biggest day of the year as Kristyn would say, her family and friends decided that it was time to get her help. Now I bet you are wondering what the biggest day of the year is…BLACK FRIDAY! It’s where crazy people like Kristyn, her sister, mother, and aunts jump into a car and drive 80 miles to arrive in front of department stores that open at midnight. Kristyn tells me that her family strategies their plan after thanksgiving dinner and decides what are the biggest sales. She explains to me that she waits for this day every year and when it finally comes she is ecstatic. If you still do not understand this absurd day, Kristyn and her family leave Thursday at 9:30pm and shop until Friday at around 5:00pm, this involves NO sleeping.

After intense examination I have diagnose Kristyn with being a Shopaholic.

I have prescribed shopping once a month, 2 pills a day of anti withdrawals, and a strict allowance that will be monitored by her father. I also demand monthly checkups to see how her addiction is going. If she does not follow what I have prescribed we will have weekly checkups.

Hal·low·een

When my mom said, “Get ready”, I danced with glee.
My pretty pink costume was waiting for me.
A dress full of sequins and lots of jewelry,
And the tiara fit tight with my hair curly.

Jess was a clown and she looked so silly,
Brandon dressed up like a scary zombie.
“We have to get candy” was my plea,
As much as you want, and it was all free.

While knocking on doors we were all carefree,
Until the ghost came out from behind the tree.
I turned around and had to flee,
But while running away I skinned my knee.

There were some tears the dress was bloody,
But the cut on my knee was very tiny.
“We want to stay out” we all agree,
We need more chocolate, and a Smartie.

Knocking on doors made us very happy,
When we saw the people, “Trick or treat” was our plea.
The wind came up it became breezy,
It was time to go home unfortunately.

We needed a drink we were all thirsty.
As we entered the house we were a sight to see.
The night was exciting, full of fantasy,
But, we could barely walk we were so sleepy.

Footloose

Cut loose, footloose
Kick off your Sunday shoes…

Throw on your dancin’ shoes everybody; it’s time to cut loose! Sitting with my closest friends in the dark movie theater with popcorn, pop, and candy on our laps we wait for the excitement to begin.  Wednesday night was the lucky night we chose to take a roader down to Bozeman to watch this movie. We have seen the old movie, and thought it was good, but we can’t wait for the new version.  All of the sudden we hear:
Now I gotta cut loose, footloose
Kick off your Sunday shoes…

We all start wiggling in our chairs, laughing, and smiling. Footloose is finally here.

Five kids died in an accident because of dancing, loud music, and alcohol stated Reverend Shaw Moore, who played a huge part in banning these activities for the teenagers of Bomont.   Ren, a young high school boy, moves to this small town.  Ren learns about the law in this small town that forbids dancing and music. He decides to take up the fight to dance and blare music so everyone can hear it.   Ariel, a sister to one of the teenagers who was killed in the car accident, is rebellious and wants to have fun. There is a huge attraction between Ren and Ariel from the beginning and it becomes stronger throughout the movie. Ren brings life back to the kids at the school and eventually wins the battle to allow teenagers to dance and listen to music, however and whenever, they please.

Footloose was given five stars and is on the top of the 10 Movies to See list. For a great time, take your friends or family and enjoy some good music and dancing. Remember put on your dancin’ shoes because you will be dancin’ your way out of the theatre.

Cut loose, footloose
Kick off your Sunday shoes…

You've Got Mail

Dear Shakespeare,
What a marvelous job you did writing the play Othello!  You displayed conflicts, true love, and death.
Having so many conflicts made the play intense and a bit confusing.  When Othello is told that Desdemona is having an affair, the intensity started to rise.  This conflict tore apart true love, all because of one evil man.  Iago’s hatred towards Michael Cassio is very evident because you tell us, with great description, what Iago thinks of him.  I really like how you described Iago’s entire mastermind plans in the play.  I feel that you did hide one huge conflict though.  I think that Iago is jealous of Othello, Cassio, and Roderigo because they have their lives figured out and they are confident in who they are.  I think that Iago relies on all of them and he knows that he must stay on their good sides in order to get what he needs.
True love is evident throughout the whole play.  You did a fantastic job making it feel like Othello and Desdemona were going to have a fairytale marriage and live happily ever after.  That took a turn for the worse.  It caught me off guard when Othello changed into a totally different person after finding out about the affair.  You did a great job of giving us the understanding that Othello was buying into all of Iago’s garbage.  It was very tricky how you put clues in Othello’s lines saying that even though this was happening he was madly in love with her.
Oh Shakespeare, nothing would be right if you didn’t have people dying.  I would have liked to see this play end on a happy note, but this was not the case.  Rodrigo and Emilia were very innocent and didn’t deserve to die.  Othello and Desdemona’s story was about true love and you made it evident that they were madly in love.  Was death the only way to prove it?  I was hoping the outcome would be that Iago died since he was the creator of these horrific events.
Overall your play was superb and I gave it 4 stars.  To get the 5th star, I felt you needed to explain things better since there were many unanswered question.  After reading the play, many questions popped into my mind.  Do you really talk the way you write?  How did you come up with idea for this play?  Was this something that happened in real life?  Why was Emilia so oblivious to Iago’s evil plan?  Of all the plays you have written, which is your favorite?  These are just some of the questions that stuck out to me.
I would like to thank you for your valuable time and I hope we can meet up for brunch next week. Thank you my friend.
Sincerely,
                                             Kristyn N. Arlian

The Best Advice from Kristyn! (:

 Class of 2016,
Wow, years have flown by and now you are on your adventure into high school. Welcome to the fun, crazy, stressful, and decision making years. I am Kristyn Arlian, a senior, at Sweet Grass County High School and I remember sitting at 8th grade graduation waiting to get the heck out of grade school. I was in your position and I could not wait for high school because that meant better lunches, lockers, sports, homecoming, dances, and way more freedom. I am sure you all are ready for at least one of those perks of being a high school student. Now high school is about making mistakes and becoming the person you want to be. I have made mistake after mistake but have learned from each and every one of them. When you guys enter through those big shiny blue doors you have started another chapter in your life. Yes, you will have your ups and downs but you need to remember to appreciate the ups in your life.
I would like to share some of the advice I have learned throughout my 4 years of school. My English teacher/ basketball coach once told me that if you stand up for what’s good and right, you will go far places. I took this advice to heart and standing up for what I believe can be hard at times but I cannot let anyone try to change my beliefs and who I am as a person. When you guys enter high school there will be many choices and decisions you will have to face and you always need to remember to stick up for what you believe in. This advice is not only for your beliefs but also your family and friends. You need to stand up to issues even if no one else does.
The other advice I have received over the years is stand out because life is too short to blend in. This advice has impacted my life greatly because you never know when life is going to be gone. Standing out and doing something that makes up you is very important. You need to remember that you always have to be yourself and never change who you are for anyone. Trying to blend in with the crowd will work for awhile but then it will through you under the bus. What I am trying to tell you is that if you blend to long your will lose your beliefs, morals, and you will be in a crowd that is not healthy for you.
The last advice I would like to give you is get involved. The more activities, groups, sports, and clubs you are in, the best your experience will be. Getting involved throughout the school will help your grades stay up and will allow you to meet new people. We have tons of things going on in the school but it is your responsibility to stand up and get involved.
Thank you for letting me share my advice with your class. I hope that you all have fantastic and fun high school years. Remember stand out, hold on to your beliefs, get involved and do great things.
